Annika's 7th and New Pics

Annika just had her seventh birthday. I think it's the end of an era. Annika is officially a little lady. Gone are the chubby baby-fat fingers and slightly extra chubby cheeks. She now has a grasp of logic and doesn't often say cute illogical things. It's kind of sad, but I can't keep her from growing up.

Papa and Grandma Yvonne came down for her birthday. Papa and Lauren got to watch Annika at her school's field day.

I got to see part of field day before leaving to attend a funeral for a 16-year-old killed in a car accident. He knew Jesus; the other young passenger who died did not. A tragic accident, yet the Lord was glorified in so much of the situation through the faith of the parents, the witness of the victim beforehand, and the sharing of the gospel at the funeral. Please keep these two families in your prayers.

On Memorial Day, we dressed the girls up and took some more updated pictures of them. The most recent ones we had of the girls hanging in our bedroom don't even include Megan because she hadn't been born yet. Definitely time for some new ones. Here are a few we liked.

On two side notes, in the last few months Dan bought a new-to-us 1999 GMC Suburban, dark blue. He loves it! And Annika took first place in the local newspaper's Easter coloring contest for the 6-8 age group. This of course crushed Lauren who didn't take any place in the ages 3-5 category. All three of our oldest girls are pictured below with their artwork which was displayed at the local mall.

I should also note that Annika is now riding her bike all by herself--no training wheels. Video was caught; perhaps it will be posted later.
